Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday: The Album

From the orange WSAT (We Stand Alone Together) album, TBY is now in green motif. At first glance, you will say its very plain and not even a name of the band in the front cover. But let the light strike the front cover art and you will see the name "BAMBOO" in huge letters. Its very simple yet artistic. ASTIG!



Inside is a booklet that contains the lyrics of their songs. Its very simple also - no pictures (sigh), just silhouttes of them and pretty much like the cover art. All songs were written by the band. "Kailan" was written by Nathan with John Kieth Erol Navarosa. "Muli" was co-written by Epy Quizon.

Then comes the mysterious absence of Vic's credits.lol Here's his answer to those asking and searching for his credits in the album:

We, believers, have been guessing what single will be released next, and we think its Kalayaan. A mix of English and Tagalog song that speaks of kalayaan or freedom. I find this song very appropriate for my co-agents at Eversun because of the ongoing chaos between us and the admins on the blog that was put up by some of the my co-agents as well. Even the song Kailan fits us right. heheheh

Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday

Finally, I have my own copy of Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday album, the latest from Bamboo. The original release date was September 19 and was postponed to the 26th. But it was only available to selected regions. The stocks arrived in Iloilo last Monday, Sep. 29 and got my copy. It was not even displayed yet, I have to ask for it so that they can get it from their stock room.lol

I was shocked when a co-believer told me that the album has gone Platinum on the 2nd day since it was released. Platinum! It only means that it has gone Platinum even when I haven't bought the album yet. Plus, during that time, the album was available to few selected areas only. To think also that the band was not here yet to even promote the album. Wow!

Nathan Azarcon in Congos

The release of Bamboo's newest album, Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday, was delayed to some areas, including here in Iloilo. The original release date was September 19 which was moved to September 26 but to some areas only. The album was supposed to be released in Iloilo tomorrow because it just came in today but I got my copy already. I was in SM City and a co-believer told me that stocks in Iloilo arrived today. So I went to Odyssey and asked them regarding the album and they got me a copy straight from their stock room. It was not yet displayed on the racks. I'll be posting more of it later here in my blog. For the meantime I want to feature Mr. Nathan Azarcon in this post. I found one of their US Tour Videos where Nathan played congos:

Geez! Nathan was so cute in here. Not just the looks but the acts as well. Notice the ring on his finger? Yes girls, he's married. I forgot the exact date but he only got married this year. His wife also just gave birth to a (cute) baby boy.

So it seems that only Ira Cruz is left unmarried in the band. I noticed his hair is a bit emo-ish. Maybe he's planning to grow his hair longer again.

p.s. this is my 4th consecutive post of a video. hahahah i didn't intend it.

JB, a fellow believer told me that the title is "Kailan." We'll be hearing them once again with a new tune. Their album will be released on September 19, 2008 - an exciting date for believers.

Francisco Gaudencio Lupe Belardo Mañalac

As we (tanaris and kessen. .mwahahah) were strolling around the mall this afternoon, looking for his younger brother's shoes, I saw this small. .uhm, poster? its a display picture actually and its really small. It is almost hidden behind the shoes and unnoticeable. But I saw it! nyahahah well, I'm a Believer, what do you expect? :p So I took a pic of it while he was busy looking for the right shoes. hahah

Just noticed that Bamboo likes to show off his tongue - as seen on their various photos, posters, etc.




Since I've seen much posters of the band, I was suddenly into "so-into-them" mode. I browsed about them for hours and I just discovered the full name of Bamboo. I thought Francisco Mañalac it was. But no, its too short for his name. His real full name is:

Francisco Gaudencio Lupe Belardo Mañalac

I've read it in an article by Ricky Lo at the Phil. Star website. . and I have discovered more aside from his full name. Here are some interesting facts about Bamboo:

• does not smoke
• drinks - but only pepsi and colt45 according to him (promote promote :D)
• has a balanced diet - eats meat once a month but only beef, no pork
• no “Junk food, sweets and candies, salty and oily food. Stuff like that.”
• breakfast - “Cereals. Sometimes, sardines and eggs with rice.”
• dinner - “Lots of salads, with chicken or fish.”
• favorite fruit is mangosteen
• “I take Gatorade. And some soda. Pepsi Max, of course. No sugar, so it’s good.”
• Does not drink coffee nor tea
• sleep wear - “Boxer shorts, by Penshoppe of course.”
• Drinks a glass of milk before going to sleep
• Does not snore
• Does not talk while sleeping
• sports - football and soccer
• fave city - Bangkok
• sex life = “Very good. Very satisfactory. I am happily married.”

. .and here are two questions that excites me most. The 1st one is intriguing though.

• How many kids do you have?
“I’d rather not talk about it.”

• Using only body language, how would you make a woman know that you admire her?
“By simply looking at her. Language of the eyes, you know.” (with those round eyes? wow! heheh)

a Wicked Meal treat

I was planning to treat my beau on a KFC Wicked Meal last monday for our 5th month. . . But he forgot about it so I forgot the plan as well and we ended up with the KKB treat.heheh but lucky me, I saw two coupons left on a "just-deserted" table next to ours. He simply and quickly grabbed the coupons from the table just before the waiter cleaned it up. So there, no need for a Wicked Treat. mwahahah

This is said to be a big concert of Bamboo and Jb, a co-believer, is going to watch! :sigh: I'll just have to wait for their album and tours then. . :D

catching up

More than a month of absence from my blog. . .whew! :D Been very busy with Monster's Den, an online flash game, then got hooked with Kongregate - the site where I played MD. As I start this post, I just finished playing RAN - another game that keeps me busy these days. In that more than 30 days of (blogging) abstinence, my blog missed a lot of things:

• I was supposed to post an update about the Philippines' entries for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Chocolate hills and Mayon Volcano were back on the list after being delisted. All of the four candidates were now in the top 20. Much support were given by the local and national government that even President Arroyo is endorsing them. Then the Pinoy Big Brother Teens has gone to the Underground River in Puerto Princesa and "Big Brother" is also promoting it to gain support in the N7W.


• Our Summer Rockin' experience 2007 with Bamboo last year was succeeded this year. This time, it's a wet-and-wild experience. The Smart Summer Samahan in Boracay on its third year had 3 bands in one night (Rocksteady, Kamikazee, and BAMBOO) plus the rain and the fireworks. The rain started to fall during Kamikazee's performance that some of the lights, equipments and the instruments got wet that some lights were turned off. Jay was even instructed to stay on the back portion of the stage because the lights were off in the front area but he refused claiming that he's not that handsome so there's no need for him to stay where the lights are and since Bamboo was about to perform after them, he said to leave the "kagwapuhan" to them. lol Since it was raining, some people left the concert. But when Bamboo started to perform, the crowd grew larger - larger than it has been earlier even when it was not yet raining. The best part of their performance was when it rained harder and Bamboo sung "ulan."
  
  Of course the summer adventure didn't stop there. It was just our first night. Since we were not able to enjoy the beach last time because of the events, we made sure to do it this time. The sun, beach, and the cam whores
  
  
  
  
  
  Last year was banana boat riding. This year, snorkeling! ... and from henna tattoo to glitter tattoo! Improvement!hahah


• The Summer Vacation didn't end with Bora coz before we went home, we went to Sampaguita Gardens in New Washington, Aklan. This is my third time in Sampaguita Gardens and I've made a post about it so I'll just leave this part with some photos. . .

Bamboo live in Iloilo!

Huwaaah! My online friend, Mad, told me via Multiply that Bamboo will be having a concert here in Iloilo this May. She's from Manila and was invited by her Ilonggo friend who is an events organizer to take a vacation here in Iloilo this May, in time for Bamboo's concert. We just met through an online forum and she was here last year. But we were not able to meet. So maybe this time, we can finally meet personally and watch the concert. (does this mean a backstage access?weheheh)

The concert, according to her friend, will be on May 10, 2008 and tentative venue is at Woodstock Rockbar, formerly Pier16. Can't wait for this day. .:D Ilonggo Believers?

okay. .the above information are not totally true. Yes, I have an online friend whose username is Mad whom I met in an online forum. She also has a friend who is an events organizer and I saw from her multiply account that Greyhoundz will be here this April. She was invited by her friend who organizes the said event. .and that's where I got the idea.heheh But Bamboo has no concert in Iloilo on May 10, 2008. This is purely for a prank. d i n a g y a n g 2008

Heavy traffic, fully loaded jeepneys, dusts in the air, crowded streets - and malls. . . That's Dinagyang! That was January 26 around 6-7 pm as I went to SM City to meet with friends. Whew! The mall was super crowded especially in the parking area where the food fest was. Before we went to Bamboo's concert venue - without planning to watch - we enjoyed the pyrolympics at SM City first. I was truly amazed with the fireworks. nyahahah

Then comes the awaited event every Dinagyang. Not the tribu competitions but Bamboo's concert! The band have missed Dinagyang last year. We have always expected them to be here for Dinagyang but they had previous commitments last year that was unfortunately canceled or postponed. But this time, we planned not to watch because the set-up was not so inviting. .we waited at the back and just sneaked on what's going on inside and counting the songs they were playing. . .On their ninth song, Grazey saw his tito yol who were part of the security churvaloo of the event. So we were able to go inside. The best part of the concert was when Bamboo went to our side and reached out his hand to us. waaaah! super waaah! \m/ We thought they're going to play 10 songs only and we got inside on their ninth, but they played a total of 15 songs! What a luck we've got! :D


We realized later on that the man on our side was Pancho G., their manager! hahah we even took a picture with him then met with Jb and Chin(?), fellow believers. We went to Westown Hotel to "meet" the band and of course take pix. . .




Then off we went to Bora Bora . . . and chilled out!

One Good Day Coming Up

Browsing through youtube, I have found this TV ad. Among the TV commercials that Bamboo or the band has made, this is one of my faves. But it has gotten less exposure on TV compared to the other commercials they've done. I totally miss this! His playful moves. . overall concept of the ad. . simple yet lively. I love his voice here and the song as well. With Bamboo as the product's endorser, it'll surely be a One Good Day Coming Up!

I think that the concert ended too soon. Not that it started early, but I just think 12:00am is too early for a concert to finish. The band must have been really tired because they had a concert the previous night at Negros. But still, its Bamboo. . . as usual, it was a great, exciting, heart-throbbing, performance that gets you out of control. Can't help myself join the crowd in singing with Bamboo and screaming as he rock our hearts out. You just get yourself carried away! Especially when you see him sweating all over! His face glistening with sweat. . .wanting to catch it as it drops. . Oh M G!

Bamboo was as energetic as ever. It was hard to follow him with my cam when I was taking videos. I would zoom in the cam just in time for me to zoom it out again because he's back in front. Grrrr. . .He's making me, uhm. .want him more and more and more! hahahah

As I've said, the concert ended soon, or just so we thought because we were still enjoying it as it ended. Then, came the test (nakz!). We met up with JB, fellow believer. Since it was too early, we decided to go to their hotel (with hesitation) hoping that we can join those who won for the "meet and greet" contest. Heheheh Not knowing what to do, we just waited at the lobby. As we decided to go up to where the winners were instructed to go, the organizers showed up and decided to do it at the lobby. Watta luck!

They were all so handsome, good/god-looking, and very kind enough to let us take pictures with them. Nathan was soooooo adorable. Then, he surprisingly gave his shades to one of the Tau Gamma pips who asked for it. The guy was even shocked, not expecting that Nates would actually give it to him. It was a pity grazey wasn't able to come with us. . there's alway a next time, graze. . :D

EMI talents Bamboo and Slapshock

Bamboo has just renewed their contract with their recording company, EMI Philippines. They have released their album, We Stand Alone Together, last February 2007 which were cover songs from various artists. Their next album, which will be fully original is expected on December 2007 or January 2008.

Before they set foot on the studio for their next album, Bamboo (the band) is busy with their domestic and international tours. . .and tomorrow, September 01, 2007, they will be here in Iloilo. It was exactly a year ago since they had their concert here at Pier 16 (August 31, 2006). So I'll just keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow's concert to be another heaven of an experience. weheheh

While Bamboo renewed their contract with EMI, Slapshock has ended their ties with the company, mutually they say. It was officially announced in their website last July 10, 2007. As they leave the company, they will release their greatest hits this September. This will be their last album under EMI Philippines.

Good news to all slap fans as the long awaited Slapshock Greatest Hits Album will hit the stores very soon. This will be the last album under EMI Philippines.
